1. Introduction
ArcX! is a Google Sheets add-on that uses artificial intelligence to help users with spreadsheet tasks. This Privacy Policy explains what information we access, how we use it, and what we never do with it.
2. Information We Access
When you use ArcX!, the add-on accesses:
- Sheet data The cells you have selected and a preview of the active data region (up to 40 rows × 20 columns) needed to provide context to the AI.
- User prompts The text messages you type in the ArcX! panel.
- Attached files Any PDF, CSV, XLS, or image files you voluntarily attach (sent as base64 to the AI service).
- Groq API key Your personal API key, which you provide voluntarily. It is stored in your own Google account properties (encrypted by Google) and is never sent to us.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above solely to:
- Send your prompts and sheet context to the Groq API to generate AI responses.
- Display those AI responses inside the ArcX! panel.
- Apply formulas, charts, or data changes to your sheet when you click "Apply."
4. What We Never Do
- We do not store your spreadsheet data on our servers.
- We do not store conversation history anywhere outside your session.
- We do not use your data to train AI models.
- We do not sell, share, or license your data to third parties (other than Groq for AI processing, as described below).
- We do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes.
- We do not have access to your Groq API key it is stored entirely within your own Google account.
5. Third-Party Services
ArcX! relies on the following third-party services:
- Groq API Your prompts and sheet data are sent to Groq's servers to generate AI responses. Groq's privacy policy is available at groq.com/privacy. You authorize this data transfer by providing your own Groq API key.
- Google Apps Script and Google Workspace The add-on runs entirely on Google's infrastructure. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.
6. Google API Scopes
ArcX! requests the following Google OAuth scopes:
spreadsheetsTo read selected cells and write formulas/data when you click Apply.script.external_requestTo send requests to the Groq API.userinfo.emailTo identify your Google account for storing settings.
ArcX!'s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
7. Data Security
- Your Groq API key is stored using Google's
PropertiesService, which encrypts values at rest. - All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS-encrypted).
- No conversation history is retained after you close the ArcX! panel.
- You can delete your stored API key at any time via the ArcX! Settings panel.
8. Children's Privacy
ArcX! is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of ArcX! after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
